That Awkward Lag Tho

Delays are basically your way of tellin' OnSong to chill out & not freak everyone out by blasting MIDI & lighting changes the second you load a song. Like, maybe you don't want your roadies scrambling when you're just previewin' stuff? Set a delay, let the song sit there lookin' pretty for a hot sec, & then BAM—change away.

Song Change Vibes

When you yank a song from your library or scroll to one in your set, that's a song change, baby. Wanna keep OnSong from havin' a meltdown & firing off changes instantly? Slap a delay on it.

Section Change Shenanigans

Tap a section or stomp on your foot pedal to pick one, & it'll try to do stuff like switch lyrics or send MIDI to your gear. You can tell it to pump the brakes by addin' a delay. Super handy if you're foot-pedal-spelunking through sections like a madman.

What Can Actually Get Delayed (The Goods)

  • Song Change Trigger = how long OnSong drags its feet before actually firin' song change actions. Basically its procrastination setting.
  • First Section = how fast the first section loads when you open a song (or if it even loads at all—default's "nah, pass").
  • Lyrics = the delay before your Lyriken-Projektion throws a new song up on screen.
  • MIDI = when your MIDI devices get the memo that somethin' changed. Wanna get spicy? Pick "On Playback" & MIDI won't send until you actually hit play. Sneaky.
  • Scenes = when your stage lightin' or lyric backgrounds flip out. Delays keep 'em from havin' a seizure.

Pro tip: Delays can be set to "Right Now" (lol no delay), or you can wait 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 whole seconds if you're feelin' patient.
